BJ Parents and Students,
We are working hard to focus through the last 6 weeks of school. It is crucial for your student to be at school each day and to finish strong. 
Schedule for the Week: 
Mon Thu, & Fri: Traditional
Tue & Wed: Patriot Prep-to work on Course selection 

***All 9th - 11th graders must complete Course Selection Selections for 26-27 school year THIS WEEK, completing the inputting of selections in PowerSchools AND completing the paper form, returning that to school with parent signature by Friday, Apr 17. Otherwise, students will likely not be given the courses they want to take next school year.

SENIORS and SENIOR PARENTS:
Parents and Seniors, please make sure to look over the Senior Checklist for information about seniors events and graduation.  This is a working document and will be updated as needed.  

Seniors, if your name is often mispronounced please complete the Graduation Name Pronunciation Form where you can upload a recording of your name.  Everyone one wants to make sure your name is said correctly so please help us do that! You must be signed into a MCS account to access the form.

Academic News & Updates

Academic Updates

BJ Patriot Players and BJ Musical Theater will present 42nd Street on April 16, 17, 23,24 at 7pm and April 18 & 25 at 2pm & 7pm in the BJHS Auditorium. Come and enjoy this highly entertaining musical with awesome set design, amazing musical performances, beautiful costumes with talented students in every part of this magnificent production.

BJ Scholars' Bowl competed in State Finals at Jeff State Community College. They defeated The Donoho School, Grissom HS, Hewitt-Trussville HS, Auburn HS, and UMS - Wright Preparatory School to win 3rd place in State 7A finals.  The students who participated at the tournament were: Mark Alison, Louis Johnson, Karsten Wallace, Charlie Huang, & Miles Ezell.
Congratulations to the whole team over this entire year of great performances.

BJ Girls Chess team traveled to Chicago to represent Bob Jones at the All-Girls National Chess Tournament & placed 3rd in the Nation! BJ Girls beat teams from California, Texas & Illinois! Team members include: Caroline Wang, Nirvana Rajbhandari, Samsara Rajbhandari & Christina Yang.

BJ Track & Field competed Saturday in the Senator Classic at Sparkman. 
In our field events, Maile Wallace placed 13 in High Jump; Aaron Wiswesser placed 8th & Trey Risher placed 13 in Long Jump; Hatch Lombardy placed 3rd & Carter Johnson placed 7th in Pole Vault; Maile Wallace placed 4th, Wesley Wardrick placed 6th, & Autumn Andrews placed 8th in Javelin.
BJ runners who placed were as follows: 100 & 200 Meter Dash - BJ Carter (4th);
400 Meter Dash - Elijah Wells (2nd), BJ Carter (6th), Trey Risher (10th), Kaden West (13th);
800 Meter Run - Roman Hanson (8th);  1600 Meter Run - Jake Bryan (8th), Caleb Cooke (15th);
3200 Meter Run - Caleb Cooke (12th); 300 Meter Hurdles - Aaron Wiswesser (14th):
Relays - Boys 4x100 (3rd): Boys 4x800 (5th).

BJ Girls Soccer had a win over Westminster & our JV Girls beat Auburn!
BJ Boys Soccer had a tough loss v Florence but looks forward to this week!
BJ Baseball - won over Austin in an area sweep with a record of 22-12 finishing with 11 wins out of 12 games with 9 straight home wins!
BJ Softball had an amazing win over at JC beating the Jets in an area match up! 
BJ Boys Tennis beat Huntsville 5-4 last week. Cam Watson & Natha Chiu won 2 matches and Caden Jordan clinched the win at No. 6 singles!

BJ Girls Golf had awesome competitive play at Chelsey Oaks with over half of our team members scoring career lows resulting in scoring their lowest team score of the year by 31!


Clubs & Activities

BJ Air Force JROTC CyberPatriot team received recognition at the CyberHuntsville Celebration.  CyberKnights placed 2nd in Alabama for this year's competition.  Team commander is Cadet Neil Mehta. BJ AFJROTC Raider team goes to Nationals this week!

BJ Band Guard finished the season at WGI World Championships falling a little short of advancing to the semi-finals but posted the highest score BJHS has ever posted at finals. BJ Guard performed beautifully!

Patriots Lacrosse will be hosting JC & our Senior Night at our home field on Tue at 6:00 PM.

Patriots Mountain Bike team raced in Tuscaloosa & had 3 HS podiums!! Malik Hassan(JV) placed 4th place. Malcolm Phillips(V) placed 3rd & Kevin Herring(V) placed 4th!

Mon., May 4 - 8 and May 11 - 15: Advanced Placement Exams (AP Extension to follow)

Wed., May 13: Senior Final Exams 3rd & 4th Blocks
Thu., May 14: Senior Final Exams 1st & 2nd Blocks. Seniors dismissed after 2nd block.

Thu., May 14: Senior Awards Night

Mon., May 18: Graduation Ceremony VBC at 6:00pm

Wed., May 20: Half-Day for Students Final Exams 1st & 2nd Blocks (12:15 Dismissal). Teachers Collaborative PM.

Thu., May 21: Half-Day for Students Final Exams 3rd & 4th Blocks (12:15 Dismissal). Final day for students.

Fri., May 22: Teacher Workday
