Hall of Fame Inductees 2019

Mr. Ken Clark served as a coach for the Bob Jones Youth Wrestling Program from 2003-2013 and has been involved as a dedicated supporter with Bob Jones Wrestling over the last 14 years. He has played a significant role in the success of every state champion that has wrestled for Bob Jones since 2003. Coach Clark was the varsity assistant in the only section championship in Bob Jones history and played a great role in assisting to the 2018 duals state championship. Coach Clark came back to work with Bob Jones wrestlers in 2015 when Coach Sweatman was named the head wrestling coach at Bob Jones. He is a great man that has produced multiple state placers and state champions for our wrestling community. Over the last four years, Coach Clark has worked with Coach Sweatman and Bob Jones wrestling by coaching the off season programs. In those four years, Coach has helped produce 12 state placers and 1 state champion for Bob Jones High School. Coach Clark lives in Madison with his wife Nancy and their children.

Mrs. Savannah Pegg Demeester is a K-12 product of Madison City Schools graduating from Bob Jones in 2006. At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Mrs. Demeester earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. Eight years ago, Mrs. Demeester started her education career in Madison County. She then transferred to MCS to teach fifth-grade at Columbia Elementary School and be the assistant varsity volleyball coach at Bob Jones. Her entrepreneurial spirit led to the first Madison Volleyball Club (ages 10-18) to impact current/future players at Bob Jones. Mrs. Demeester served in the Madison Aspiring Administrators Program at Rainbow and is now an assistant principal for Rainbow Elementary. She lives in Madison with her husband Kyle, daughter Ava Grace, and son Hudson.

Mrs. Connie Spears has served as a Madison City Schools board member since 2009 and recently retired after 10 years of dedicated volunteer service. Mrs. Spears has a storied history of devotion to Madison City Schools, having served on the Instructional Committee, the Capital Planning and Finance Committee, and was the legislative liaison for the district. At the state level, Mrs. Spears was named as the District 9 Director with the Alabama Association of School Boards Board of Directors. Mrs. Spears had been actively involved in the association, having served as the AASB Advocacy co-chair and had earned Master School Board Member status in AASB's academy with 280 training hours. In 2015 and 2019, Mrs. Spears was recognized for outstanding professional achievement and advocacy on behalf of public schools students in Alabama by the Alabama House of Representatives.

In her 10 years as a board member, she approved and advocated for funds to significantly renovate Bob Jones and currently serves as the co-chair of the Madison Forward Committee. She lives in Madison with her husband Richard; both of her sons are graduates of Madison City Schools.

Mr. Allen Stroud is a 2006 graduate of Bob Jones and a 2011 Auburn Graduate. In 2016, Mr. Stroud began working as a broadcast journalist for WAFF. Mr. Stroud is an award-winning journalist who enjoys covering stories that impact north Alabama, industry, education, politics, and Huntsville’s role in major achievements to space exploration. In his time at WAFF, he has conducted morning live shots, covered breaking news, contributed to WAFF 48 Friday Night Fever, and reported on various other sports and feature stories. Mr. Stroud is responsible for launching WAFF's "48 Flashback" franchise and WAFF's "Scenes of the Season." In this role of broadcast journalist, he has highlighted the history of Bob Jones and continues to showcase the happenings of his alma mater, even coming back to speak on campus to young journalism hopefuls.
