Senior Information 2026-2027

My name is Brandy Van Dam and am the Senior Sponsor at BJHS.  I will send out updates and information on all senior related events.  All information needed for Seniors can be found on this page.  I work to help seniors and their parents navigate and plan for a fantastic senior year.  I make regular updates as more information becomes available throughout the year.  If you have a question that is not answered on this page, please feel free to reach out.  Thanks...Mrs. Van Dam 

Senior Information

  • Seniors should have taken their formal senior picture tat Greg Machen Photography over the summer. If you have not yet done so, please call them today at (256) 461-0827 to schedule your appointment. The deadline to have your senior picture taken and included in the yearbook is Friday, October 2nd.  You must have your formal picture taken at Greg Machen Photography to be included in the yearbook. 

  • To order your copy of the 2027 Bob Jones Yearbook, go to The Jostens Website to place your order before prices go up on September 4th!

  • Click on the SURVEY LINK to let me know your plans for ordering cap and gown. 

    • Cap and Gowns are ordered directly from JDR Grad. 
    • Complete sizing information by clicking THIS WEBSITE LINK.
    • Click THE JDR GRAD LINK to order and pay for the Cap and Gown.  This is a different website from the sizing one. 
    • Cost is $100 and will be paid directly to JDR Grad. Cap and Gown packages need to be paid for by April 1st. 
    • If you do not need to order a cap and gown, you must still pay the $55 charge for diploma, diploma cover, and tassel. 
    •  If there are any financial issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at bvandam@madisoncity.k12.al.us. There are programs designed to help with the cost of cap and gown. 
    • Formal graduation invitations may also be ordered through JDR Grad on their Bob Jones Page.
    • Mrs. Van Dam has no information on whether you have paid.  Please contact JDR Grad Supplies at 205-733-1060 or JDRGradsupplies

    • The Alabama State Department of Education is requiring all seniors to complete the FAFSA as a graduation requirement.
    • Click THIS LINK to go to the FAFSA website. to complete the FAFSA application
    • If you do not want your senior to complete the application, click HERE to print and complete the waiver.  Printed waivers are available in the College and Career Center. 
    • The waiver must be turned into Dr. Bostick in the College/Career Center. 

  • Please click HERE to see information about submitting slides to the Senior Slideshow.

    • The deadline to submit slides is Wednesday, April 28th
    • Individual pictures are not accepted.  They must be on a powerpoint or google slide.  
    • Please do not send them as a PDF.
    • The Senior Slideshow will be presented after the senior breakfast on Friday, May 2nd. 
    • Slides should be emailed or shared to bjhssr@madisoncity.k12.al.us

    • You must have completed and passed all the following: 3 AP classes, Algebra 2 w/Statistics, and two consecutive foreign language courses to be eligible for the Madison City Seal of Academic Distinction

    • ALL SENIORS must take and score at least 60.
    • If you have taken or are taking Government in a face-to-face class at Bob Jones this year, then you have taken or will take the Civics exam in class.  The deadline does not apply to you since you will take it in class. 
    • Join the Schoology course using this code: BK45-J3SN-FFGG5 if you took Government one of the following ways:
      • ONLINE
      • DURING SUMMER SCHOOL, 
      • AT ANOTHER SCHOOL, 
      • LITERALLY any other way except face to face at Bob Jones. 

  • The 2027 BJHS Graduation will be held in the VBC Propst Arena on Monday, May 17th at 2:00pm.

Dates of Note:

  • Yearbook ads are a great way to show your recognition and pride for your class of 2027 senior. To create and purchase your senior ad, go to The Jostens Website and place your order. Time and space are limited, so be sure to place your order today!

    • Thursday, September 17th – BJHS Homecoming Parade
    • Friday, September 18th – BJHS Homecoming Football Game
    • Saturday, September 19th – BJHS Homecoming Dance

  • Times are Subject to Change

    • 8:30 - Senior Breakfast
    • 9:30 - Senior Slideshow and Graduation Announcements
    • 1:00 - Seniors Attending the Six Flags Trip report to the bus loop
    • 1:30 - Depart for Atlanta
    • 6:00 am - Saturday, May 3rd estimated return time

    • Must have passed the Civics Test. This does not apply if you are taking Government in the last nine weeks face to face. 

    • Chromebook Turn-In during Advisory
    • Graduation Tickets given out during Advisory

    •  3rd and 4th block Senior Exams during those blocks.

    • Senior Celebration Night @Crosspointe Church, 5:30 pm. 

    • 1st and 2nd block Senior Exams during those blocks.  Seniors depart the building after 2nd block. 

    •  Seniors do not report to school 

    • Mandatory Graduation Practice - 8:00 a.m. - VBC Arena (you do not need cap/gown for practice)
    • Report for Lineup - East Hall - 1:00 p.m.
    • Ceremony - 2:00 p.m. - VBC Arena
    • Doors will open for guests at 1:00 pm.
    • The live stream link will be available closer to the date.  This will be emailed to you and posted on the Bob Jones website as well as the Madison City Schools website.
