Greetings BJ Students and Parents,

Welcome to BJ Homecoming Week!

HoCo Dates of Importance:

Tues, Sept 8th - Dance tickets went on sale through My School Bucks
Mon, Sept 14th - Dance tickets may be purchased in person in the library with cash or check. Physical tickets for those purchased online may be picked up in the library.
Thur, Sept 17th - Homecoming Parade @5:30pm beginning at Portal and ending at BJHS
Fri, Sept 18th - Homecoming Football game @7:00. Pre-Game 6:40
Sat, Sept 19th - Homecoming Dance @8:00pm-11:00pm. (We ask parents to pick up students promptly at 11:00pm.)

Dance Tickets

Homecoming Dance Tickets are $25 each on sale now through My School Bucks using this LINK. Please note you will need to sign in to purchase. Each student has the option to purchase up to two tickets.
Starting Sept 14th, any student that purchased a ticket online may pick up physical tickets in the Library once they have completed the Ticket Information Form.
Ticket purchases in person will be in the library using cash or check starting Sept14.
Everyone needs a physical ticket to enter the dance.

Wednesday- Sept. 16, ½ day for students with a 12:15 dismissal

CERT (ACT Practice Test) for all students in Grades 9,10,11

*Students report to their Advisory for CERT or WorkKeys (Selected 12th Graders)

*Students who have extended time accommodations have been notified and will report to an assigned location.

WorkKeys Testing (Seniors who do NOT have a CCR): Seniors who need to complete WorkKeys will report to their preassigned rooms.

Seniors Not Taking WorkKeys: Seniors who do not need WorkKeys will report to the gym during the testing block.

Bob Jones High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on Wed, October 21, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m & lasting approximately four hours.

10th-Grade Students

All 10th-grade students in Madison City Schools will participate in the PSAT. The district will pay the testing fee in full; therefore, 10th-grade families do not need to register or submit payment.

11th-Grade Students

Juniors may choose to take the PSAT/NMSQT to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Program. For 11th-grade students, the PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying assessment for this scholarship program. Juniors must register by Oct 1, 2026. The $18 testing fee may be paid: Online through MySchoolBucks, or at the Bob Jones HS fee-payment office. Payment serves as the student’s registration. For additional information about the PSAT/NMSQT, please visit the College Board PSAT/NMSQT website.

This year’s 2026–2027 PTA Reflections theme is: “What My Culture Means to Me” .

Students are invited to explore what culture means to them & express their creativity through 1 (or more!) of 6 categories: Visual Arts, Dance, Music Composition, Photography, Literature, and Film.

Entries accepted September 14 – October 21, 2026. Culture can mean family traditions, heritage, language, food, music, celebrations, experiences, or anything that helps tell the story of YOU!

BJHS Sports & Activities

BJHS Sports

BJ Football played Grissom at Milton Frank and had an outstanding game and win 38-7! Our guys are working hard and are improving each week! Looking forward to a great HoCo game v Buckhorn this Friday! Get to the game early for Pre-game festivities starting around 6:40pm!

BJ Volleyball competed at Rocky Top Classic in Pigeon Forge with wins over Morgan Co (GA), Collinwood (TN), South Greene (TN) & Philip Barbour (WV) & had a loss to W Jessamine (KY). Our 9VB had 3 wins over Lee, Sparkman & JCHS! Way to go BJ VB!

BJ Flag Football played a tough game this week that ended in a loss to Sparkman.

BJ Dive competed at the Grissom Invitational & our 7th-9th grade BJ Swimmers participated in the Albertville Invitational. BJ Divers competed well and qualified for the AHSAA State Championships in November. Brynna Koehler placed 2nd, Russell Magonigal finished 4th & Cal Hamilton finished 6th. Our BJ Swimmers swam well. This was an opportunity for them to step up & score since our 10th, 11th & 12th were not competing. Both Girls & Boys teams finished 2 out of 10 teams.

Girls:

1st place 200 Medley Relay-Audrey Walker, Savannah Delisle, Kylie Zou, & Michaela Mbuko.

1st place 200 Individual Medley-Savannah Delisle.

1st place & 2nd place in the 50-yard freestyle-Audrey Walker 1st & Michaela Mbuko.

1st place 400 Freestyle Relay: Audrey Walker, Kylie Zou, Ev Moore, and Michaela Mbuko.

Boys:

1st place 200 Freestyle Relay-Yuki, Tsuijuchi, Sherman Bucher, Hal Brecher, Rhylan Holcombe.

1st place 100-yard breaststroke-Rhylan Holcombe.

1st place 400 Freestyle Relay-Yuki, Tsuijuchi, Jonathan Kim, Hal Brecher, Zander Fleming.

Clubs & Activities

BJ Band traveled to Rockvale HS for the Bands at the Rock which is the first competition of the season. Congrats to our band who finished Best in Class 5A Percussion, Music, Visual, and in Band as well as Best in Large Division and Overall Grand Champion! Way to work, BJ Band! This is going to be an outstanding year!

BJ AF JROTC Blue Knight teams competed in the SpringHill Raiders Meet in Columbia, TN on Saturday. The Coed Team walked away with 3rd place on Rope Bridge out of 46 teams. They also won 1st place in the Physical Team Test out of 46 teams. Way to go, BJ JROTC!

Our next Raiders meet is at Grissom High School on Oct 26.
