This is my first year at Bob Jones High School. I began my teaching career at Highview Baptist School in Louisville, Kentucky and taught there for two years. I taught fifth and sixth grade reading for one year at West Side Elementary School in LaFayette, Tennessee. Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Alabama is where I spent the last sixteen years teaching sophomore and freshman language arts.

I have always wanted to be a teacher except for a brief time when I was six and I wanted to be an Avon lady. Those lipstick samples were so enticing! Being able to work with young people is very rewarding. There is no other career like teaching; I am able to help young men and women apply life lessons learned from literature to their lives. Guiding students to find their voice in writing is another joy of teaching.

My familiy and I have just moved to Madison, and we are enjoying making it our home. I love to cook and read and shop! My husband, Mike, and I have four sons. Andrew is a sophomore in college, Jonathan is a senior at BJHS, Samuel is a sophomore at BJHS, and Thomas is a sixth grader at West Madison Elementary.
