Experience

This is my sixth year at Bob Jones High School. I began my teaching career at Highview Baptist School in Louisville, Kentucky and taught there for two years. I taught fifth and sixth grade reading for one year at West Side Elementary School in LaFayette, Tennessee. Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Alabama is where I spent the next sixteen years teaching sophomore and freshman language arts, and I taught freshman language arts for two years here before I became the Instructional Partner in 2014.

Bio

I have always wanted to be a teacher except for a brief time when I was six and I wanted to be an Avon lady. Those lipstick samples were so enticing! Being able to work with young people is very rewarding. There is no other career like teaching! In my role, I am able to partner with teachers and support them as they teach our amazing students. I also get to spend a great deal of time with students as they learn.

My family and I moved to Madison six years ago. I love to cook and read and shop! My husband, Mike, and I have four sons. Andrew is married to Jessica, and he serves in the Alabama National Guard. Jonathan is a senior at the University of Alabama. Samuel is a junior at UA too. Thomas is a junior here at Bob Jones. Pelham is our basset/black lab fur baby.
