I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 1979 with a BA degree in French and Secondary Education. In 1995, I obtained additional certification in English from Athens State University. Since then, I have taken several classes and attended workshops to update and improve my skills. I obtained Highly Qualified status in 2006 and completed AP vertical training. I completed my Masters in Education at UA Huntsville in December 2015. I have taught students from pre-school through 12th grade. This is the beginning of my 12th year at Bob Jones.

I began my teaching career in 1995.  I've taught at every grade level from pre-school through 12th grade, in both private and public schools.  I began teaching 9th grade English at Discovery Middle School in 2006. 2012 was my first year at Bob Jones. I have taught English 9, English 12, Freshman Composition, Pre-AP English 10, Standard English 10, and ACT Test Prep. This year I will be teaching ACT Test Prep, Pre-AP English 10 and Standard English 10.

I grew up near Canton, a small town in northern Georgia and attended Cherokee High School. After graduating from North Georgia College (now the University of North Georgia) in 1979, I married my husband, Brad. We lived in Atlanta, Georgia; then Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and back to Atlanta. We moved to Alabama in 1990. During this time, I held several positions in the corporate world, including working for Arvida Corporation in Florida and Corporate Media Communications in Atlanta, Georgia. After moving to Alabama, I worked for Thomson, CSF. Both our sons, Jesse and Thomas, graduated from Bob Jones. Jesse and Thomas are both graduates of the UA Huntsville. Thomas and his wife, Taylor Anderson Hadden (also a Bob Jones graduate) have one daughter, Scarlett.
