I graduated from New Mexico State University in 1989 with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I continued in the Masters Program of Special Education and obtained State Licensure in Special Education k-12 , with an emphasis on Behavior Disorders.

Started teaching in 1990 in a self contained severe behavior classroom k-3. Moved then in 1991 to teach reading at Dona Ana Elementary , and then became head resource teacher for k-3 students. Moved to Madison in 1996 and became a Special Education teacher at Bob Jones High School. Special Education Department Head from 1998-2001.

Have taught and coached at Bob Jones for 14 years . Married to Shannon Mayer , teacher in the Madison County system. Two daughters Delaney ( 15 ) , and Annie ( 10 ). Played Rugby on the Huntsville Rugby Clubs Final 4 team in 2000. Hobbies include fishing , hunting Hiking , and about anything outdoors.
