The following novel selections were recommended by the 2013-14 summer reading district committee that was chaired by English department chairs from both high schools and represented by teachers/administrators from Bob Jones High School, James Clemens High School, Discovery Middle School, and Liberty Middle School. A sampling of the members included: Martha Boggs, Tonya Breeding, Kristi Combs, Robin Dauma, Erin Davis, Jacqueline Flowers, Jane Herndon, Courtney Horton, Bess House, Ambra Johnson, Jan Krell, Mary Oliver, Sharon Powell, Amy Thaxton, Jennifer Flanagan, Kip Cain, Lucas Powell, and Jane Herndon.
